The Department of Electrical Engineering of Polytechnique Montréal is seeking applications for the tenure-track position of assistant/associate professor focused mainly on information theory, coding theory, machine learning or signal processing theory.

The Department of Electrical Engineering consists of 34 professors, three senior lecturers, 27 support staff, 546 undergraduate students in electrical engineering, 183 undergraduate students in biomedical engineering, and 181 graduate students. The faculty of the Department of Electrical Engineering conducts leading-edge research in close collaboration with industry in areas such as: biomedical engineering, medical imaging, automation and systems, energyÌýand power grids, microelectronics, microwave systems, telecommunications systems and networks, and more.

The Department of Electrical Engineering is seeking applications for the tenure-track positionÌýof assistant or associate professor. Outstanding candidates for a full professor position will also be considered. Candidates should have the ability to conduct cutting-edge research at the international level, with excellent communication skills, an interest in industrial collaborations and a passion for engaging and innovative teaching.

This position shouldÌýbe filled by a candidate whose expertise and research program are focused mainly on information theory, coding theory, machine learning theory or signal processingÌýtheory for new applications such as the study of statistical and algorithmic principles of machine learning, the interpretability of machine learning, collective intelligence, quantum technologies, millimeterÌýand terahertz-wave wireless communications, distributed systems, and large-scale information networks, with a particular emphasis on security, privacy, reliability and connectivity. The Department of Electrical Engineering has an interest in research programs involving fundamental or practical aspects, including implementation, analysis and experimental evaluation of algorithms, of information theory, coding theory, machine learning theory or signal processing theory.
