Welcoming Outstanding AI and Engineering Talent at Technology Innovation Institute!
Technology Innovation Institute (TII), a global research center and the applied research pillar of Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), is now recruiting post-docs, researchers, and senior researchers to join its existing AI & Telecoms specialization team.
Boasting 10 research centers - the Advanced Materials Research Center, Autonomous Robotics Research Center, Cryptography Research Center, Digital Security Research Center, Directed Energy Research Center, Quantum Research Center, and Secure Systems Research Center – as well as three new ones that focus on Propulsion, Biotechnology, and Alternative Energy, TII is setting new standards and serving as a catalyst for change.
TII’s team of scientists, researchers, and engineers work in an open, flexible, and agile environment to deliver discovery science and transformative technology solutions. Global subject matter experts collaborate with exceptional UAE national STEM talent – fast-tracked into thriving R&D careers – to carry out proprietary and collaborative research. Ìý
TII’s work reinforces Abu Dhabi and the UAE's status as an R&D hub and a global leader in advanced technology capabilities. TII counts leading research institutes and pioneering startups and industry stakeholders among its research partners.
Prof. Mérouane Debbah leads Artificial Intelligence and Telecoms Systems at TII that serves as a cross-disciplinary specialization across all our Centers. Our most recent recruits within AI & Telecoms include the first Emirati to hold a PhD in artificial intelligence for wireless communication engineering and computer science. In addition, two eminent medal fields lend their expert guidance as Board of Advisors in refining the team’s efforts.
TII’s AI and Telecoms Systems specialization aims to push the boundaries of communications, sensing, and networking. This capacity brings to life breakthrough ideas via experimentation and prototyping and implements communication schemes and techniques to advance the performance of standardized systems for 5G and beyond. AI & Telecoms presents a free-to-attend webinar series on the developments in cutting-edge technology that include futuristic concepts such as holographic communications. ()
TII has marked key milestones in its short history including:
- Opening the first national cryptography library in December 2020.
- Developing the UAE’s first secure cloud technologies program to boost advanced technologies that enhance data privacy and cloud encryption schemes in April 2021.
- Developing the first simulation version of 'QIBO', a versatile open-source quantum computing programming framework in April 2021.
- Opening the region’s first Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) labs in May 2021.
- Starting to build of the region’s first quantum computer in August 2021.
- Opening the region’s first motion capture facility to enable the testing of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in September 2021.
TII recently joined the prestigious Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF) as a Board member. The definitive platform for the global wireless research community works to explore and develop the research challenges that confront us as we look beyond the current 5G deployments.ÌýIn this respect, TII will be hosting the WWRF conference in Abu Dhabi from November 7 to 10, 2022, convening experts from the global wireless research community to explore the challenges and opportunities that confront the industry and examine emerging trends across 5G, AI, and wireless and telecoms innovations.
TII is also now a proud member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and ETSI, an independent, not-for-profit, standardization organization in the field of information and communications.
In our sustained efforts to attract top talent in AI, we invite candidates with outstanding abilities and a track record of scientific excellence to join our team of high achievers. Please send in your applications to: [email protected] at AI & Telecoms Systems, Technology Innovation Institute.
