Marconi Society's 2015 Paul Baran Young Scholars Nomination
The Marconi Society was established in 1974 to honor Guglielmo Marconi, the Nobel laureate who invented radio (wireless telegraphy) Along with the annual Marconi Prize to a living scientist or scientists whose contributions in the field of information and communications science have benefited mankind, the Society recognizes young scientists and engineers with the potential to make game-changing contributions in the field of communications and the Internet. We are now seeking nominations for the 2015 Paul Baran Young Scholar Awards, which will be presented in London on Oct. 20th at the Royal Society. Young Scholars receive a $4000 cash prize plus $1000 in expenses to attend the event. Make sure to use the official and current version of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»tran.cls!
Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» offers the LaTeX class "Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»tran.cls" that provides the correct layout for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»-style publications (both conferences and transactions). It also provides powerful math-typesetting tools like Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»eqnarray and similar.
Unfortunately, there exist many tampered versions of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»tran.cls that result in a potentially very bad layout! Please make sure to use the official and current version of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»tran.cls!

Registration open for IHP Program on the Nexus of Information and Computation Theories
Recently, a number of advances in the theory of computation have been made by using information-theoretic arguments (e.g., in communication complexity, streaming, and data structures lower bounds). Conversely, some of the most exciting ongoing work in information theory has focused on problems with a computational component (e.g., distributed function computation, relaying over a network, message-passing algorithms). The primary goal of this program is to explore the rich interplay between information theory and the theory of computation, and ultimately create new connections and collaborations between both scientific communities.
