About the opportunity

The School of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of Sydney is seeking to appoint one Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDA) to join the Centre of Excellence in Telecommunications. The PDA will be involved in the research and development of advanced channel coding for next generation cellular networks.

The position is available for three years. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.

About you

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate who possesses demonstrated expertise in the following areas:

• Strong track record in wireless communications, particular in the area of channel coding, such as block codes, polar codes, LDPC codes

• Low complexity decoding algorithms

• Information theory of finite-block length

Ìý

The successful applicants will also have a PhD or be close to his/her PhD completion in a relevant area and a strong research track record as well as mathematical and software tools.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, work effectively in a team, manage resources and prioritise tasks to achieve project outcomes will be essential.
