The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Information Theory Society invites nominations for the James L. Massey Research and Teaching Award for Young Scholars .  The award winner must be 40 years old or younger and a member of the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Information Theory Society on January 1st of the year nominated.
This award is named in honor of James L. Massey, who was an internationally acclaimed pioneer in digital communications and a revered teacher and mentor to an entire generation of communications engineers. He was one of the outstanding researchers and leaders of the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Information Theory Society over a period of 50 years.
Open nominations for the Award can be submitted by using the Massey Award Nomination Form . The individual or individuals making the nomination have the opportunity to briefly articulate why the nominee should receive the award. Nominations are due by April 30, 2015 .
