3S Workshop (Wireless of the Student, by the Student, for the Student) at WiOpt 2011 offers its participants an exciting day of interaction, exploration and discussion in a variety of areas in modeling and optimization of wireless networks. Organized by a student TPC, 3S is a student centered workshop featuring a fast-paced elevator pitch session and poster presentations. This career oriented workshop provides a unique opportunity for developing career skills, exploring academic life and networking with research community.
The workshop will be held Monday, May 9, 2011, co-located with WiOpt 2011 at Hyatt Regency Princeton, and will include an elevator pitch session and a poster session. The sessions will provide participating students a chance to develop and practice academic communication skills. Awards will be given to students for their remarkable performances and participation to these sessions.
Parallel to WiOpt, topics of relevance for the elevator pitch and poster sessions include, but are not limited to:
   * Asymptotic system properties (capacity, connectivity, coverage, delay)
   * Cognitive Radios
   * Cross layer design and optimization
   * Energy efficiency
   * Game theoretic models, pricing and incentives
   * Interference in wireless networks
   * Mobility modeling and management
   * Modeling, simulations and performances analysis
   * Network and multi-user information theory
   * Network protocol design
   * Opportunistic and cooperative communications
   * Optimal control of network operations
   * Optimization of network design
   * Routing protocols
   * Scalability and manageability of network architectures
   * Security in wireless networks
All graduate students are encouraged to participate in the workshop. Works in progress are also welcome.
Submissions
For the elevator pitch sessions, please submit a 200 word abstract.
For the poster sessions, please submit a single page extended abstract (including all figures, tables, references etc). Please use 10 pt character size, two column text and letter paper.
Authors submitting a 1-page extended abstract will be offered the possibility to have their abstracts listed in the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Xplore with Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» publication status.
Submissions for poster and elevator pitch sessions will be handled via EDAS. Look for Conference abbrv. 3S'11.Â
