The Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering (IOE) at the University of Michigan (U-M) invites applications for faculty positions at all levels (assistant, associate, and full professor) for an appointment beginning September 2023. Our department is multidisciplinary, balancing theoretical and methodological research and applied research interests. We are looking for candidates who will excel in an environment where they are committed to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education, establish an independent, externally-funded research program in their areas of expertise, and embrace the global outlook, leadership focus, and service commitment that permeates the culture of Michigan Engineering.

Qualifications:

You have or are near completion of a Ph.D. and demonstrate a commitment to high-quality research and evidence of teaching potential. We will consider candidates in all areas related to Industrial and Operations Engineering, including Operations Research, Human Factors & Ergonomics, Data Analytics, and related disciplines. The many application areas in the department include operations management, health & human safety, energy & sustainability, mobility & transportation, public policy, manufacturing, and robotics. You are committed to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education; will develop impactful, productive, and novel research programs; and will contribute to the department's goal of combatting systemic racism and sexism by engaging in our culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
