Membership Fee Subsidy Program

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» policy currently allows a 50% discount on Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» dues and one society membership for any individual whose annual salary is less than US $10,100. This offering is referred to as the Minimum Income Special Considerations Option. The Information Theory Society now has a new program called the Membership Fee Subsidy Program (MFSP), which will both complement the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Minimum Income offering and provide a significant additional benefit for qualified individuals.

With the IT Membership Fee Subsidy Program, IT will pay the other 50% of the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» and IT dues that are not covered by Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» for individuals qualifying for the Minimum Income option for a maximum of 20 individuals. These individuals can be either prospective new members or existing members. The program also will cover student members that reside in countries that would qualify as Minimum Income.

If an individual qualifies for the reduced Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Minimum Income offering and the IT-FSP, the application forms and renewal bills should be mailed to the IT treasurer. Once received, the application forms and bills will be coded by the treasurer with a special account number and submitted to the pertinent Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» department for processing.

Those IT members receiving the IT-FSP benefits should fulfill the obligation to promote the IT activities.
