From the Editor
Welcome to the inaugural issue of the online IT society newsletter! While this online format is similar to the traditional printed version, it has distinctions in structure as well as in part of the contents. The structure is based on our society’s website, thus it serves as a microsite. As usual, the contents include announcements, news, reports, surveys, and events. But some research articles like tutorials on trending fields will appear instead in our society’s new Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» BITS the Information Theory Magazine. This transition was made possible by generous support and advice from the ITSoc Digital Presence Committee members (Brian Kurkoski and Christian Senger in particular), the new and past presidents of our society (Christina Fragouli and Wei Yu), and the Editor-in-Chief of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» BITS (Robert Calderbank).
