Frank Kschischang: 2023 Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Richard W. Hamming Medal

The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Richard W. Hamming Medal is awarded for exceptional contributions to information sciences, systems, and technology. It is awarded to FRANK KSCISCHANG (FÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­)—Professor, University of Toronto, Canada, for contributions to the theory and practice of error correcting codes and optical communications.

The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Graduate Teaching Award was established by the Board of Directors in 1990 and renamed in honor of Leon K. Kirchmayer in 2002. Dr. Kirchmayer was well known and revered throughout the world for his commitment to students and education. It is awarded to RÃœDIGER URBANKE (FÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­)—Professor, EPFL, Switzerland,Ìýfor contributions to graduate education, empowering students and mentorship that advanced the world of wireless and engineering communication.
